Cystic Fibrosis: Classic Presentation (Part 2 of 2)

This podcast is the second in a two-part series on cystic fibrosis. In this podcast, the listener will learn about the clinical features and complications of CF, the prognosis of CF, and an approach to prevent, investigate, and manage acute respiratory exacerbations. The podcast was created by Dr. Rose Sun, a second-year pediatrics resident at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, with support from Drs. Tamizan Kherani and Melinda Solomon, pediatric respirologists at the Stollery Children's Hospital in Edmonton and the Hospital for Sick Children respectively.


Cystic Fibrosis: Early Presentation (Part 1 of 2)

This podcast is part one of two podcasts that explore cystic fibrosis (CF) in children. This episode focuses on the early presentations of CF and reviews the pathophysiology and etiology of CF in newborns, the presentation and diagnosis of CF in newborns, as well as describes the Newborn CF screening all through a case-based approach. Congenital Tracheoesophageal Malformations

This podcast provides an understanding of congenital tracheoesophageal malformations, including the clinical presentation, physical exam, investigations, management, and complications. It was developed by Shawn Dodd, a third-year medical student at the University of Alberta, in collaboration with Dr. Bryan Dicken, a pediatric surgeon at the University of Alberta.


Approach to Bronchiolitis

This PedsCases Note provides a one-page infographic on the approach to bronchiolitis. It overviews presentation, common differentials, investigations and management. It was created by Viane Faily, a medical student at the University of Alberta, with the help of Dr. Chris Novak at the Stollery Children's Hospital in Edmonton.

Acute Asthma Exacerbation

This PedsCases Note provides a one-page infographic on managing acute asthma exacerbations. It reviews PRAM scoring and gives an overview of a management algorithm that can easily be used on the wards.
