This podcast presents an introduction to newborn circumcision. In it, the listener will learn some of the pros and cons of circumcision, the indications and contraindications of circumcision, the financial implications and timeline of circumcision, and a suggested approach to counseling parents on the care of their child’s uncircumcised penis. This podcast was developed by Thomas Kellner, a third-year medical student at the University of Alberta, in collaboration with Dr. Darcie Kiddoo, a pediatric urologist at the University of Alberta.


Postnatal Corticosteroids to Prevent or to Treat Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia in Preterm Infants - CPS Podcast

This podcast is a review of the Canadian Pediatric Society's position statement on postnatal corticosteroids to prevent or treat bronchopulmonary dysplasia in preterm infants.  It was developed by Dr. Amélie Cyr, a pediatric resident at the University of Saskatchewan with Drs. Brigitte Lemyre, Michael Dunn, Bernard Thébaud, the principle authors of the statement. Dr. Brigitte Lemyre is a clinical investigator and an academic neonatologist at the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) and at the Ottawa Hospital.  Dr.


A NICU Parent’s Passion and Perseverance

Abdominal Wall Defects in the Newborn

This podcast will review the clinical features, management, complications, comorbidities, and epidemiological data of abdominal wall defects (umbilical hernia, omphalocele, and gastroschisis) in fetuses and newborns.
